Welcome to the “Gem Lakes Engaging Everyone” (GLEE) update page.

GLEE updates for 2016

Next GLEE meeting April 14, 2016 6:00 to 7:00 PM at South Aiken Presbyterian Church.

Are you feeling stressed?  Are there not enough hours in the day to get everything done?  Is your “To Do” list getting longer and longer?

GLEE might be able to help you reduce your stress level and increase your flexibility.  How?

We are offering an introduction to Tai Chi at 6 p.m. in the gym at South Aiken Presbyterian Church on April 14. Trig Penland, who lives in Gem Lakes and who also teaches Tai Chi at First Presbyterian Church, will be our instructor.

So, what is Tai Chi?  The Mayo Clinic said “originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.”

If you have been thinking about trying Tai Chi, now is your chance to see what it is all about.

Bring your neighbor.  Hope to see you on Thursday, April 14.  Our programs usually end around 7 p.m.
